Harvesting the Back Forty

Non-GMO Peppers at The Farmhouse's "Back Forty" Heirloom Garden

September 16, 2016

Planting the Farmhouse’s “Back Forty” heirloom garden began in early spring.

Slowly, the crops began to grow….

And voilà!!  Earth, sun and water combined to produce a healthy harvest of tasty and interesting varietals. Pictured below are but a few of the vegetables and herbs reaped this summer in the Back Forty:

carrots, beans, radishes, onions, chicory, kolhrabi, cucumbers, summer squash, Swiss chard, turnips, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and mint.

They’re non-GMO, the only way to go!

We have already begun planting for the fall harvest, including the kale, Swiss chard, radishes, carrots, greens, spinach, and lettuces embraced by Chef Christine’s farm to table gourmet menu.  Look for them this autumn, and enjoy.
